Intex, today at an event at the Bangalore Brew Works, launched a 5-inch Android 4G VoLTE phone targetted to the tech-savvy youth segment. The Intex ELYT e6 is one of the first phones to feature 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage at a price point less than Rs. 7000.
Here are some of the main standouts of the phone:
Memory, Storage & No Hybrid SIM
The ELYT e6 features a Dual Micro-SIM with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage on board. You can expand that to up to 128GB by slipping in a MicroSD card. While most dual-sim phones these days feature a hybrid SIM tray which makes you choose between a second SIM and a MicroSD storage, the ELYT e6 has a separate MicroSD slot. So you don’t have to trade off additional space for an extra line.
The phone is powered by a 64-bit, 1.25GHz Quadcore Mediatek processor which should have enough punch for your favorite apps and games. This coupled with the 3GB onboard memory should make multi-tasking and switching between apps smooth.
Scratch proof Screen
The ELYT e6 comes with Dragontrail Glass, from Ashai in Japan, which is six times tougher than glass to prevent scratches on the screen. Ashai’s Dragontrail glass is a comptetitior to Corning’s Gorilla Glass which is more well known, but quite a few devices from Sony, Samsung and others also are using Dragontrail Glass these days.
Selfie & Battery Life
For the selfie lovers, the phone features an 8 Megapixel front-facing camera, with a front-facing flash for those snaps in low light environments. The rear camera is a 13 Megapixel shooter.
You can go worry-free on those long commutes with games and online videos and social media because this phone comes with a sizable 4000 mAH battery. Even if you’re not a voracious phone user, the large battery should give you a long time between charges.
Pricing & Availablility
The Intex ELYT e6 will be available from the 15th of December exclusivley on Flipkart. The phone is priced at Rs. 6999. During the launch period, HDFC card holders get an additional 10% off using their credit or debit cards.
