Economic Times had recently polled the Youth of our Nation to see what’s the most exciting brand in their views. What came out was quite a surprising mix. Nokia, according to our youth folks, comes up first! They are followed by the Soft-drink leaders covering the rest of the places in the Top 5 listing.
So what makes Nokia an exciting brand?
Shares D Shivakumar, senior vice-president, India, Middle East and Africa, Nokia: “50% of overall app downloads in India happen on Nokia Ovi store. We have the best music service, the best bands. Music, cricket and entertainment are passions of the youth.
In each of these genres we’ve done a lot of work.” On the product side too, Nokia has spruced up its offering with the Lumia phones based on the snazzy new Windows 7 operating system. Sometimes though, all it takes is a little thunder to break into the top brands the young adore.
